International Baptist Church of Stuttgart, Germany

IBC Stuttgart is a community of believers who seek to focus on God through Jesus Christ, encourage one another, and serve others locally and abroad.

Our primary language is English, but we also support various ministry opportunities in German, Spanish, and other languages, for groups of individuals who wish to study God’s Word in their native tongue.

Our History

We began as a mission church in 1960 to support American servicemen stationed in Stuttgart, Germany. In 1962 we were officially constituted as a church, with 27 charter members, and we joined the European Baptist Convention (now the International Baptist Convention). Originally our name was Neckar Valley Baptist Church.

Over the following years we broadened our vision to include the local and international community, and adopted our current name – the International Baptist Church of Stuttgart. Today over 700 people from more than 50 nationalities worship together at IBC, representing every continent on earth.

Our Values

  • We are a church of prayer and worship based on God’s Word.
  • We encourage people to find their God-given potential through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • We value family and fellowship.
  • We relate to one another with trust and integrity.
  • We forgive because we’re forgiven.
  • We love and serve God and one another.
  • We respect all people as God’s creation.

Our Heritage

We are a full member of the International Baptist Convention – a global association of English-language churches who share a common doctrinal heritage. The Convention stretches across Europe, with new churches being established in the Middle East and abroad. Together we share the love and salvation of Jesus Christ to the nations, using English as our common language.

Here at IBC Stuttgart we accomplish these goals through various outreach programs, extensive discipleship, and by participating in and supporting global missions.

We are also members of the German Baptist Union (Bund Evangelisch-Freikirchlicher Gemeinden in Deutschland K.D.ö.R) – a fellowship of independent evangelical Baptist and Brethren churches in Germany.

Our Vision

We are an English-speaking, Bible-believing church of many nations and cultures. Our vision is to be a growing family that reflects the love of Jesus as we share the Good News to the Stuttgart community and beyond.

A Place For You

We provide a wide variety of ways for you to study God’s Word while developing friendships with others from all over the world. It is an all too common experience for people to join a class or attend a service and never develop any meaningful relationships with those around them. Jesus modeled relational discipleship with his followers: they grew deeper in faith by growing closer together.

You will see that at every level – from toddlers to grown-ups – we celebrate this model. You will find others who will encourage, support, and challenge you during every season of your life as you seek a closer relationship with Jesus Christ.
